Preserving Pennsylvania’s Postal Heritage
Every letter, postmark, and mail route tells a story – but without preservation, these stories can fade. PaPHS is dedicated to documenting, researching, and protecting Pennsylvania’s postal past, ensuring that future generations can explore and learn from it.
Your donation supports:
- Archival preservation of historic postal records and artifacts
- Educational programs that connect researchers, collectors, and enthusiasts
- Publications like Historian that share valuable postal discoveries
- Exhibitions and outreach that make postal history accessible to all
Beyond annual or periodic monetary gifts, we welcome bequests from estates. This can be monetary or philatelic collections. While we can accept philatelic collections, it is less of a strain on the Society if the estate will sell the collection and forward the proceeds to the Society. The appraisal of the collection and any tax deduction amount are the responsibility of the estate. The Society will provide confirmation of the gift to the estate.
The Pennsylvania Postal History Society is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. We welcome your tax exempt gifts. Our annual dues notice provides for this. Donations in excess of the annual dues amount help us to keep our annual dues low.

Support Our Publishing Fund
Pennsylvania Postal History Society (PaPHS) encourages and promotes original research by its members on a variety of Pennsylvania postal history subjects. From time to time, we accept manuscripts from members for publication, with editorial assistance available for those who need a little help.
As a benefit of membership, a copy of any new work is mailed to each member free of charge. The work is then promoted for sale to the general (philatelic) public, helping to share Pennsylvania’s postal legacy with a wider audience.
Your contribution to the Publishing Fund helps PaPHS:
– Provide needed funds to publish new research for the benefit of all
– Avoid either/or decisions when multiple worthy manuscripts are presented
– Maintain high-quality editorial and production standards
– Expand access to member-authored works and historical studies
– Offset printing and distribution costs for special publications
